Discovered by Alan Lomax and his legendary tape recorder while still living on a Mississippi plantation, Muddy Waters did not become a star until he moved north to Chicago in the early ’40s, where his flamboyant style and slide-guitar playing would eventually become synonymous with the Chicago blues scene.
