The KEF Blade 2 is a speaker that demands your focus, and not just from its striking aesthetic, but from the moment you press play. Designed under the “Single Apparent Source” philosophy, it attempts what few speakers even aspire to: to make all sound appear to emanate from one point, not many. At the heart of it is KEF’s concentric Uni-Q tweeter / midrange module, flanked by side-mounted, force-canceling woofers that wrestle vibration and distortion into submission.
With a quoted sensitivity around 90 dB / 1W/1m and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms, the Blade 2 remains surprisingly amplifier-friendly for its ambition. Bass extension is respectable. In real rooms you’ll often get down into the low 30s (Hz) with authority, and the top end pushes well beyond 20 kHz with clarity. Because the woofers are mounted in opposing pairs, cabinet resonance is kept minimal, and the physical presence fades away, and what’s left is music in the air.
Sonically, the Blade 2 slips between genres with the grace of a chameleon. It can evaporate from the room on a quiet piano solo, then summon orchestral storms with control and scale. The midrange is natural, the highs pure but not brittle, and the imaging often feels three-dimensional. It’s a speaker that rewards attention and refuses to hide its depth.
