The Denon AU-320 is a vintage MC (moving-coil) step-up transformer (SUT) designed to boost low-output MC cartridge signals to levels suitable for moving-magnet (MM) phono stages. It supports multiple gain settings (notably 1:10 and 1:36), caters to primary impedances around 3 Ω and 40 Ω, and outputs at about 4 kΩ. The transformer is housed in a triple-shielded iron case to minimize noise and interference. Also features gold-plated input/output terminals and is known for solid build and modest size (about 97 mm × 65 mm × 155 mm, ~0.8 kg).
